To:  Governor of Alabama

WHEREAS the State of Alabama has been negligent in allowing George Everette Sibley to be tried without effective counsel, and

WHEREAS, Sibley’s case was sabotaged by the court-appointed attorney, who failed to contact, interview, or subpoena witnesses favorable to Sibley, and

WHEREAS it was determined at the trial of Lynda Lyon Sibley through the testimony of ballistics experts that the fatal shot was fired by Lynda Lyon, a fact she herself admitted, and

WHEREAS, ballistics testimony at the trial of George Sibley was in direct contradiction to the testimony in the trial of Lynda Lyon, and

WHEREAS, both defendants could not have fired the fatal shot, and

WHEREAS the John Bad Elk Supreme Court decision approves using deadly force against law officers who attempt unlawful arrests, and

WHEREAS, the file showing why Officer Motley had been “desked” was kept from the jury, and

WHEREAS, George Sibley has not killed anyone, and

WHEREAS, the State of Alabama has acted illegally by setting an execution date of August 4, 2005, before the time had expired for Sibley’s appeal,

We, the Undersigned, hereby petition Governor Bob Riley for a REPRIEVE for Mr Sibley that he may follow the avenues of appeal still open to him:

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
