The first hurdle has been passed! In an Order of Council, the Rt. Hon. Steven Harper has Changed the rules of Eligibility. The new rules Include 2 yrs. from the Event OR the end of the Trial/Inquirey. Now, we just need to convince the Governal General, that Chris's actions merit the award. Please send your emails to : info@gg.ca

To:  The Right Honourable Michaelle Jean, Governor General of Canada

By signing this Petition, I am adding my voice to those of other Canadians, in joining Premiere Dalton McGuinty's call to extend the eligibility timeframe for the Cross of Valour and other decorations for bravery beyond two years.

Mr. McGuinty's letter cites the needs that exist in certain situations where an application for bravery may not be submitted within the two-year time limit - citing specifically Constable Garrett's case.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
