ETHIOPIA AT A CROSS ROAD 2010

Africa is the symbol of backwardness,illitracy,poverty and dictatorial administration. In order to alleviate these problems good governance is a cornerstone and We have to bring good governance in Africa not from the barrel of the gun but from ballot boxes.

The execercises done during the last fifty years could not play in teaching the heads of African governments to obey to the voice of the people,that is if anyone came to power inany means there is no peaceful transfer of power but always there is AN ELECTION which is put on the people but not by the people.

Among these African countries,Ethiopia is one of them that is governed by dictators,military juntas and tyrants.

The history of election in Ethiopia goes back to the Imperial regime but the output is just putting the decision in the mouth of the people.

Eventhough the Ethiopian people tried to excercise their right to replace the EPRDF regime in 2005 the result was manifested by extra-judicial killing ,torture,imprisonment,human right abuse,eviction from work and land and cutting services in return for casting the ballot to whom they think will democratically administer them.

Being the reality what is described above in Ethiopia the 2010 election is around the corner which is crucial to the Ethiopian people but the same drama is written to be performed by EPRDF(the ruling party).

I here by request every democrat to join hands to facilitate the comming election to be done in a democratical way without the interference of the election board which is estabilished by the members or affiliares of EPRDF government as well the following to be fulfilled:

1.Uncurved Freedom of press ,association,and organization to all according to the constitution (EPRDF is not even abid own written constitution)

2.Independent electoral board which will be decided by all parties in the country(whether they are members of the parliament or not)

3.The participation of all parties with out any prerequisites and decided by the vote of the people

4.The full involvment of civil societies and NGOs(local,international) in monitoring the election

5. Stop The interference of EPRDF cadres,police and the military in local gatherings of political parties during campaign and election time

6.Stop the use of government resources by the EPRDF members(ruling party)for the purpose of election campaign

7. Allocation of equal access(time allocation) of government owned medias
8.Free observation of International observers to the lowest administrative/local election site from any country
