Demanding Supervisor Rights Resignation

We, the undersigned residents of the Town of Southeast, do hereby petition Supervisor Michael Rights to resign from public office immediately. Supervisor Rights pled guilty to a serious crime involving conduct unbecoming of a public official. This being his second such offense in less than 13 months raises serious questions about his judgment and ability to lead our town. Last year, following Supervisor Rights' first charge of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) he wrote, "I have given you reason to question my judgment…" We agree and are calling for Supervisor Rights' immediate resignation so that we may restore faith and civility to town government.
