Preserve the Atwater House, 1089 Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo

To:  Pano's Restaurant, Preservation Board, Mayor Masiello

We, the undersigned, are opposed to the demolition of the Atwater House, 1089 Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo, NY, for a surface parking lot to serve Pano's Restaurant. The house, a Queen Anne built circa 1894, is the most elegant building on the block in a neighborhood whose drawing card is its intact, pedestrian-centered streetscape and turn-of-the-century architecture. While we appreciate what Pano's offers to the neighborhood as an affordable, locally-owned restaurant with good Mediterranean food, many of us choose to boycott Pano's until the house is safely protected.
