To the Program Director of Wgci & Power 92.3 FM:
I am petitioning to have all unsigned artists in Chicago music to be played on the radio. Whether it is R&B or Hip-Hop/Rap, men or women, solo artist or group, I feel they deserve to be heard. Wgci dedicates one hour out the week on Dj Timbuck2 hour to unsigned artist who they pick are close to even having a song on the radio. Why do the radio staff get to choose what songs are played, we are the listeners, we are the consumers who will buy and support our very own. In New York and Atlanta they play unsigned artist music all day everyday, I personally think this is because their city supports them. How can we support our own if they never play their music for us to hear it? Chicago has great artists like Common, Kanye, Twista, and R.Kelly, but there are more artists than just four from Chicago that are great. My petition is to get at least an hour a day of unsigned artist music played on Wgci and 92.3 Fm. If you feel the same way I feel please sign this petition. Upon having 10,000 signatures I will go to the office of Wgci and Power 92.3 FM personally to try and make a change in the City of Chicago.
