If you're tired of hearing bands like Metallica and other not-so alternative, punk, emo, or ska bands on the Dallas radio station KDGE 102.1 FM the Edge, then sign the petition below and let Clear Channel and the stations executives know how you feel. Since Clear Channel changed formats on 97.1 FM, formerly the Eagle in May, 2004 from rock to oldies music, the DFW metroplex now has only the Edge to hear new rock bands and those who are not categorized as classic rock.
KDGE 102.1 is and has been Dallas and Ft. Worth's only station devoted entirely to alternative bands. Now it seems Clear Channel and KDGE executives are adding some metal bands formerly featured on the Eagle's format to the Edge's play list.
If you're an alternative music fan who wants Clear Channel and the Edge executives to know you want to hear real alternative bands played on 102.1 FM, then please sign the petition.
Remember that only Clear Channel and KDGE executives, not the DJs, interns, or receptionists, have the power to change the station's format and hopefully improve it as well.
The only way that can change is if you, the listener, voices your opinion and tell KDGE and Clear Channel executives that there is an alternative music audience in DFW and in the words of the late Joey Ramone, we want the airwaves.
