AUC school administrative government is restricting us from using certain video streaming websites and other limits on the internet. I don't use youtube that often, but when I have to wait 2h for a video lecture about angiogenesis from youtube or other video streaming websites or download a doc at 10-14k during the day because they are trying to accommodate the huge number of people using the internet, I wonder why not get a better internet speed and bandwidth instead!!!!
I have been thinking about this for a long time, and been planning to see those that share the same feelings with me. I asked around for the possibility of getting a better connection, and guess what! there is so many ways we can improve.
However, if we are ok with what the administration provided us, and they only hear the minor complaints, they will discard them as if it is a minor issue.
The impractical solution of improving the internet speed through limiting the use of certain websites is ridicules to the point that I can still can see people using them...especially the computer lab...the way way single computer in the back!...or the library front desk....or sit on the back of a lecture hall ...etc.
What I am trying to say, you can't restrict people from free internet use. This is not Saudi Arabia!!!! You can't especially restrict them from using it toward their education.
At the end, we are demanding the administrative government to adopt a practical solution (higher bandwidth to our internet service) instead of the limits and restictions we are under and may get under in the future.
