This petition is to change the times of school hours. This is because, and I speak for most people in my class when I say this, we simply don't get enough time with our friends. Yes we do only get on average 1 and a half hours a day, but most parents don't think children as young as me (13) should be out later than 6:00, and they are right, but this means that we often don't get to see our friends until the weekend, and most of us do more homework on Sundays as well, leaving us with just a saturday to relax. Homework has almost become completely null anyway seeing as most people either get help from their parents or copy a passage from the internet! Our social skills aren't developing like they should be. So our idea is to change the school hours from 9:00 to 3:40 to 7:00 to 2:30. This gives us 50 minutes more time at school, so homework could be minimized as well, and if we are at school for that 50 minutes teachers know we are getting proper education and not just copying information frm the internet. This idea gives us the same amount of education we have currently while giving us more time to allow our social skills to develop as well.
