Save the Jobs at the Cambridge University Press |
To: Cambridge University, Cambridge City Council, David Howarth MP, 10 Downing StSAVE THE JOBS AT CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY PRESS
Cambridge University Press is the oldest university press in the world and in 2009 celebrates its 425th anniversary. It is a company that made a £2 million profit last year. Yet Cambridge University Press is threatening 160 workers with redundancy at a time when the economic outlook is bleaker than it has been in decades.
We, the undersigned, deplore the Press’ devastating plans for printing and the mass jobs cuts they entail. We support the actions of the workers and of the CAMPAIGN TO SAVE THE JOBS AT CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY PRESS in their fight to defend jobs and a future for printing in Cambridge.
Sincerely,
