Echelon speaks out for 30 Seconds to Mars |
To: Virgin RecordsI wanted to do this petition to give myself and all the Echelon's in the World and supporters a chance to speak up for amazing band 30 Seconds to Mars.We will not go down like this and we will not give up on the band either.Virgin Records filed claims on Jared and Shannon Leto just a few days ago.
When you read below and go to the links you will see why.Which I think is really crazy. If you never heard of this band, now is the time.Check them out.You will not be disappointed!!
30 Seconds to Mars (lead singer Jared Leto) has worked to fucking hard to get thier dream and live it,to have Virgin Records to destory it!
I want the world to know how fucked up this is and I want to get the word out thats its not right and its a fucked up thing to be happening to a band that has saved many lives with the songs and just by being them.A band whose goals in life are to make the world a better place and that their doing it nearly alone. They do more than most bands out there. They have been working on new music for a new album, and helped habitat for humanity build homes for people.
They treat their fans with respect. They call us family, which is called Echelon and if you have been to one of thier shows,Jared welcomes you into the family. They give you a sense of peace in life.A place you fit,you belong. No making fun of each other, nor hating one another.I'm in tears as I write this.
Here is my story.
My name is Carolyn I'm 30 and I'm from North Carolina.I haven't had the greatest things in life, alot of heartache, drama.I was searching for a reason for me to keep going.Something to save me.June/July of 2006 I went through something and I was sitting in front of the computer, crying and in my mind I was at the end of the cliff, ready to make the move and end my life.I couldn't take this pain anymore.
When I was on this online station in NYC listening to a friends interview. When this song came on,I heard " Come break me down" over and over "what if I wanted to fight" "beg for the rest of my life" When I heard those few sentences I broked down heavenly in tears to the point I couldn't see. I called the station and asked who that was,he told me it was The Kill by 30 Seconds to Mars.
At that very moment in time, everything around me came to a stop and the thoughts I had about killing myself, left me.So you can see why I say this band (Jared Leto) saved my life.
I went to myspace to check the band out.Listen to the song over and over.I could write about this forever. But I don't want to keep ya long.Since then,I've seen them in concert 5 times.Even went to NYC to support Jared's movie Chapter 27.I'm very devoted.Just like all the others out there.
30 Seconds to Mars has changed alot of lives and saved alot. Why destory a band that does this.
Echelon here is your chance, speak your mind and let Virgin Records and the whole universe know exactly how you feel. I took the leap and wrote almost a book.Even opened myself up to total strangers. Its our time and chance to give back to the fucking amazing 30 Seconds to Mars that saved and changed our lifes for the better, and better yet,the reason we still breathe.

Here is lyrics and videos links you should check out. First one is called A Beautiful Lie,they put thier lives in danger for us to make a Beautfil Video and send out a great message.Second video is The Kill, the reason I'm still alive.
A Beautilful Lie
Lyrics
Lie awake in bed at night
And think about your life
Do you want to be different?
Try to let go of the truth
The battles of your youth
Cuz this is just a game es foul, telling us that even though the band has been signed for nine years and have sold more than two million records -- and lived through five regime changes at the label -- they still haven't been paid.

It's 30 Seconds to Mars. And about half that to file a lawsuit.
Jared Leto and his bandmate brother, Shannon, were sued Friday by Virgin Records America for failing to come through on a five-album deal the eyelinered duo and the now-defunct indie label, Immortal Records, inked with the plaintiff nine years ago.
While Leto used a couple of those years to appear in movies like Girl, Interrupted and American Psycho, his band eventually got the ball rolling with its 2002 self-titled debut.
The alt-rockers followed that up with 2005's A Beautiful Lie.
But since their sophomore effort, according to the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, 30 Seconds to Mars has remained three albums short of the promised land.
Virgin and parent company Capitol Music Group claim that the Letos opted out of their 1999 contract in July by citing a section of the California Labor Code which states that a contract cannot be enforced against an employee beyond seven years "from the commencement of service under it.
"
In order to invoke the loophole, employees involved in "the production of phonorecords" must also give written notice that it won't be providing its services in the future.
And 30 Seconds to Mars may very well have laid it all out in writing, but the labor code also states that, in such a case, an employer is entitled to recover damages for breach of contract, which is exactly what Virgin and Capitol are looking to do, to the tune of more than $30 million.
A rep for the band tells TMZ, however, that it's 30 Seconds to Mars that is getting the short end of the stick—the trio, which also includes Tomo Milicevic, has sold more than 2 million albums and has not been paid accordingly.
Meanwhile, though the guys haven't been putting out any new music lately, they sure are stretching their A Beautiful Lie success as far as it will go.
They issued a deluxe edition of the album in 2006 and rereleased it again last year with a different set of bonus material, hoping to capitalize on the good will picked up on a European club tour. A short-film music video for the album's title track premiered in January on the band's MySpace site as well.
Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for reading every single word above.I'm sorry it seems like I wrote a book, but I only wrote the truth, which needed to be heard.
P.S. Sorry for writing a book and forgive me if anything ain't spelled right.
Also Press/Media,if you want to talk to me.Go ahead.I don't mind.Cause I will defend and stand my ground for 30 Seconds to Mars (JARED LETO)
provehito in altumSincerely,
