'After the videocassettes went out of print, Nelvana was planning to release the series again, this time on DVD. However, the plan was dropped since Nelvana did not have enough time.'

A quote from the Wikipedia 'Stickin Around' section of site.

In case you don't know what this show is, Nelvana's animated series "Stickin Around" is a little something that came on the air in the mid 90's (mainly in Canada). The premise was to get the audience thinking of how it would be if children had the power to create their own TV show.

And yes, the characters were litterly stick figures.

This concept helped the series win a Gemini Award for 'Best Animated Series' in Spring '98 with its use of Boiler Paint animation (giving the feel that kids can't color in the lines). Each 2-part 10 minute episode tells the tales of two best friends Stacy Stickler and Bradley (no last name) as they go through the trials of being a couple of kids in elementary school. Dealing with issues like parents, bullies, homework and the like. The uniqueness comes when they use the power of imagination to aide their journey. Going form being underwater, to Egypt, the middle of a jungle, anywhere their hearts desire. But even with this gift, they realize that at some point (unfortunately) they have to face reality. It gives us characters that we grow to love, journeys that we can understand. That uniqueness that probably no show today can top.

Or at least that's how it is to me.

I'm creating this petition simply because this show has been loved for all these years and only has 2 DVDs out (each only with 4 episodes). They've had all this time to give the show justice and this (plus the 3-4 VHS tapes we've seen) is all we get. Sure, you can see episodes by subscribing to Reeltime.com (under construction @ the moment), but nobody wants to do that! We also have YouTube, but they're so hard up on following the Copyright rules that the episodes will eventually be taken down.

All I ask is for any supporters of this show (or any supporters of nostalgic TV shows) to sign their names on this Petition to show how much it's really loved. If you can do that, it will be a little 'Thank You'. Not just for me, not just for Nelvana, but for those that will see the show in the future and realize that it's a REAL inspiration for kids; a REAL kids show!

Unlike the stuff we have to put up with today.

With this, I say to you all - Let the power of imagination live on. Forever.
