Light Pollution in Toronto |
To: City of TorontoIt obscures the stars in the night sky for city dwellers, interferes with astronomical observatories, and, like any other form of pollution, disrupts ecosystems and has adverse health effects. Light pollution is any annoying light that intrudes on an otherwise natural or low-light setting. Since the early 1980’s, a global dark-sky movement has emerged, with concerned people campaigning to reduce the amount of light pollution.
Please sign this petition to help get the city of Toronto to change the street lamps in highly lit areas from "drop lamp" to "flat lamp". This will greatly decrease the amount of light dimming the sky from our city.Sincerely,
