Time to give peace a try!

The drum beats have been kicking around for a long time, the Bush administration backed by Israel, Canada, France ,Britain, and Germany have all been talking about the military option against Iran. But have they really tried to negotiate with them? Have they even tried to sit down at the table and talk on a high level about all the issues, support for Hezbollah and Hamas, their role in Iraq, the nuclear issue, with out any pre-conditions and demands? If the answer is no, then the next question is why? If our Prime minister, If our President if our leaders in general are
truly believers in dimplomacy like they claim, why haven't they sat down with Iran? What harm can it do to talk, and at the very least try to make an effort to resolve this peacefully? Contrary to their claims they have not done this. They have made their stand clear, that Iran must halt uranium enrichment in order to have real talks. However, seeing as how uranium enrichment is main issue in the conflict, for Iran to halt enrichment right off the bat, without even holding real talks, is essentially admitting defeat. Basically throwing away any bargaining chips you may have had. So how can you have serious negotiations and still save face, if you have already agreed to submit to your adversaries demands beforehand? At that point negotiations are already over before they begin.No self respecting nation would consider this as a viable option.So I am asking you to sign this petition in support of diplomacy and peace. I don't care what your political stance is, Democrat, Republican, NDP, Conservative, Liberal or whatever. It doesn't matter if you think Iran is a crazy nation hell bent on getting nuclear weapons to destroy Israel, it doesn't matter if you think your President or Prime Minister is the best your country has ever had, it doesn't matter if you think Iran is an imminent threat to world security or not. It doesn't matter if you are a Christian, a Jew, or a Muslim or whatever. What matters is that WE the people take the power back.WE decide what countries we want to negotiate with WE want diplomacy, we want peace. We want our ELECTED leaders to do what we tell them to do not the other way around! If you even do not want to sign this petition for that reason sign it for this. Sign it to save lives. Save American lives, save Canadian lives, Save Israeli lives, save Iranian lives. SAVE LIVES. It doesn't matter who is right and who is wrong,every one has an opinion on that. To many lives have been lost throughout our history because of that argument. What matters is that we respect peace. We respect ourselves. Do you want your kids or future kids to grow up in a world of constant war? Or do you want them to live in peace? We have tried war in Iraq and Afghanistan and it did not work. Its time we give peace a try for a change.
