Stop The Practice of Multiple Executions |
To: TDCJ, Governor Rick Perry, District Court Judges throughout the USA, Amnesty International, ACLU, and all others involvedTwo inmates were scheduled to be executed in Texas on April 20, 2005, both at 7:00Pm. The practice of multiple executions is both cruel and inhumane. There is only one gurney, one execution chamber, etc. Although there may be additional staff, the facility is not equipped to accommodate two executions. This could cause the execution to be rushed, causing a botched execution. It's cruel to the second inmate, and to his family and friends, to suffer the anxiety and fear of the wait. This shows that executions are taken too lightly and with little consideration. It shows to the world that the state of Texas is a butchery state. This practice must be stopped in Texas and in all the other execution states.
Sincerely,
The Stop The Practice of Multiple Executions Petition to TDCJ, Governor Rick Perry, District Court Judges throughout the USA, Amnesty International, ACLU, and all others involved was created by The Abolishment Movement and written by Doreen (Dee) Hawk (Lucidreeme@aol.com).
