Child Molester Laws must be changed now!!!!

To:  United States Congress

We the undersigned, demand a change in the current laws regarding Sexual Offenders and Sexual Predators, these laws as they stand right now are not enough to protect our children.

Crimes of a sexual nature against children should be made Federal Offenses, thus enabling the courts to hand down harsher sentences and avoid early releases.

We are not advocating indefinite imprisonment for these people however we believe that if they are fitted with permanent monitoring devices upon their release, it will enable law enforcement officials to track their whereabouts anywhere in the country.

We understand that the Constitution provides for criminals who have served their time and paid their due to society to regain all their civil rights, the same cannot be applied to Sexual Predators and Offenders anymore. The recidivism rate is too high and the risks for our children too many.

What is being done right now to notify people of Child Molesters moving into their neighborhoods is inadequate. Authorities should implement methods such as mass mailings, the media and whatever else is necessary to ensure that our communities and the children in them are safe from Sexual Predators.

We ask you to take immediate action to ensure the safety of our children and yours.
There has been too many Jessica Lunsfords. Please make her and her family the last ones to suffer through this horrific tragedy.
