We, the undersigned fans of Queen, would like to use this letter as a way of expressing our sincere disquiet over the recent publishing policy of Queen Productions.

The matter that concerns us the most is the graphic design of the recent releases by Queen or Queen + Paul Rodgers. We are fully aware that the opinion on aesthetic value in all areas of art is a matter of taste and personal preferences. However, it is also the reason why we believe that we have the right to express our view on this issue. We feel that the artistic value is decreasing with every CD’s or DVD’s cover art presented to the fans. The worst came a couple of days ago when the new cover art for “Live In Ukraine” – the new release scheduled for June - was revealed. It caused an immense number of sarcastic and unfavourable comments among Queen fans. The list of reproaches is long but the most painful matter to people who love the band and its music is the suspicion that the graphic designs of the band’s releases are created negligently and without proper care for the final effect.

As mentioned above, evaluation of any artistic work is a matter of subjective opinions. However, we would like to repeat that for us, the fans, the current publishing policy of Queen Productions is frustrating and discouraging. That is why we urge people responsible for the preparation of the band's releases to put more care and heart into their work.

Moreover, we believe that fans all over the world wait decidedly too long for live DVDs from the 70’s – the period considered by many fans to be the best in the band’s history. Another long-delayed project is the Box Set. Its release date has already been ridiculed by the fans on numerous occasions.

We sincerely hope that our voice, the voice of people who care for the band and whose lives have long been connected in many ways with the band, will not be ignored. We are sure that we all have the same goal – we want the world of Queen to expand and the band’s good name not to be forgotten.

My, niżej podpisani fani zespołu Queen, chcielibyśmy w niniejszym liście wyrazić nasze szczere zaniepokojenie formą, jaką przybrała w ostatnim okresie polityka wydawnicza Queen Productions.

Tym, co budzi nasz szczególne zmartwienie, jest graficzna oprawa kolejnych wydawnictw oznaczonych szyldem Queen bądź Queen+Paul Rodgers. Zdajemy sobie sprawę, że ocena wartości estetycznej w każdej dziedzinie sztuki w ogromnym stopniu zależy od osobistych gustów i preferencji. Jednakże, z tego samego powodu czujemy się uprawnieni do wyrażenia naszej opinii na ten temat. W naszym mniemaniu, poziom artystyczny spada drastycznie z każdą nową okładką płyt CD i DVD, które prezentowane są fanom. Czara goryczy przelała się kilka dni temu, gdy światło dzienne ujrzała okładka wydawnictwa „Live In Ukraine” zapowiedzianego na czerwiec tego roku. Wzbudziła ona w środowisku miłośników Queen ogromną ilość nieprzychylnych i sarkastycznych komentarzy. Lista zarzutów jest długa, ale tym, co szczególnie boli ludzi, którzy kochają zespół i jego muzykę, jest podejrzenie, że projekty graficznej oprawy jego płyt tworzone są w sposób niedbały, pozbawiony prawdziwej troski o efekt finalny.

Jak zaznaczyliśmy wcześniej, ocena artystycznej wartości jakiegokolwiek dzieła, jest kwestią bardzo subiektywną. Mimo to, chcemy jeszcze raz powtórzyć, iż dla nas, fanów Queen, obecna polityka wydawnicza Queen Productions jest powodem raczej do frustracji i zniechęcenia niż radości. Dlatego też, wzywamy osoby odpowiedzialne za przygotowanie wydawnictw zespołu o wkładanie w swą pracę więcej serca i uwagi.

Dodatkowo, chcielibyśmy wyrazić przekonanie, iż fani Queen na całym świecie zdecydowanie zbyt długo oczekują na wydawnictwa takie jak koncertowe DVD z lat 70, przez ogromne rzesze miłośników zespołu uważanych za najlepszy okres w karierze grupy, czy też dawno zapowiadane i wciąż odkładane box sety, których data wydania stała się już popularnym przedmiotem kpin.

Żywimy ogromną nadzieję, że nasz głos, głos ludzi, dla których zespół Queen jest ważną częścią życia i znaczy ogromnie wiele, nie zostanie zignorowany. Jesteśmy pewni, że wszyscy chcemy jednego – by świat Queen żył i rozwijał się, a dobre imię grupy nie zostało zapominanie.
