Williams' Family |
To: Town of WythevilleWe, the undersigned, do hereby declare and affirm that we:
1. Are in opposition of the request that Mr. Eddie Williams and family relocate their home of 365 Van Mar Drive.
2. Are in opposition of laws and/or ordinances which would restrict the building of On-Frame Modular homes in residential districts zoned R-1, R-1a, and R-1m.
The Williams family, in the process of obtaining their home, acknowledged and followed any and all applicable requirements for homes built in areas zoned as R-1 Residential. Their request for a building permit was approved by the building official for the Town of Wytheville on Twenty Fourth day of August, Two Thousand and Seven. To ensure their family would be able to move into a new home as soon as possible with no interruption in housing, it was obvious that an On-Frame Modular home would be in the best interest of the Williams family. Given that modern technology allows for the creation of Modular homes which are structurally the same as, if not better than conventional on-site construction built homes, the Williams had no problem choosing a Modular home over a conventional on-site construction built home, which could take a considerable amount of time to build in the first place.
Since the first marker was put in the ground for their home, the Williams have been nothing less than harassed by a group of people who feel that their home should not be allowed to remain in it’s current location; a group of people consisting of unnamed person(s), some of which do not live even remotely close to the Williams residence.
It is unfortunate that grown people can not find anything better to do than initiate and support conflict; specifically a conflict which is in regards to something that is none of their concern in the first place; people who feel they are in some way better than others, when in reality they make themselves inferior by displaying their immaturity publicly. If the Council Members for the Town of Wytheville allow laws and/or ordinances to be passed restricting Modular homes from being built in certain districts simply because they are not put together board by board on-site, and if the Williams family is forced to move their home from it’s current location because other residents of a community refuse to be responsible, mature adults, we hold a devout trepidation for the future of this community.
Therefore, the purpose(s) of this petition are:
1. To request that the Council Members for the Town of Wytheville do hereby reconsider their decision to not allow On-Frame modular homes in specified residential districts in the Town of Wytheville, specifically those zoned R-1, R-1a and R-1m.
2. To request that the Williams be allowed to leave their home in its current location of 365 Van Mar Drive, to avoid further inconvenience to the Williams family.
Sincerely,
