Affirm 301 Ocean Avenue Landmark Designation

“AFFIRM THE LANDMARK DESIGNATION OF 301 OCEAN AVENUE”

SUPPORT PETITION

Santa Monica City Council has appointed highly qualified citizens that have intimate knowledge of Santa Monica History and historical events and structures to its Landmark Commission for the purpose of determining the eligibility of specific properties for landmark designation. THE LANDMARK COMMISSION HAS DESIGNATED 301 OCEAN AVENUE AS A CITY LANDMARK. Subsequently, Trammel Crow, a commercial real estate development company based in Dallas Texas filed an appeal to overturn the Landmarks Commission action.

We the undersigned are concerned citizens who urge the Santa Monica City Council to deny the appeal and AFFIRM DESIGNATION OF 301 OCEAN AVENUE AS A CITY LANDMARK. This building is an important contributor to the San Vicente Historical District and this city’s history.
