Brevard Supports Real Worker's Rights

To:  Brevard County Commissioners

We, the under sign do strongly oppose the American Worker's Rights as
being presented at the Brevard County Commission.
This resolution contains several falsehoods about the Employee's Free
Choice Act(EFCA).
1. The ECFA contains provisions removing the secret ballot; Under the
ECFA the employees have the choice of a election or card check.
2. The ECFA would force workers to pay union dues; under the
Constitution of Florida, no worker can be forced to join a union. Florida
is a "right to work state"
3. The ECFA would submit workers to a union promotion system based on
seniority rather than merit; Promotion agreements are a function of the
contract that is agreed to by workers and the employer
4. The ECFA subjects the employer to a federal arbitrator with no vote
from the workers; If there is no contract what can the workers vote on?
This provision is to force both parties to make an honest attempt at a
speedy contract agreement, so the worker could vote on the contract.
Therefore we call upon the Commissioners of Brevard County Florida to
reject this dishonest anti-worker Resolution
