Take down stop signs at Limebank and Leitrum Intersection |
To: The City of Ottawa Traffic DepartmentOn the 20th of August 2008, the City of Ottawa installed a new 3-way stop at the intersection of Limebank Road and Leitrum Road in an attempt to improve safety for drivers.
Although this is seen as a temporary solution until the widening of Limebank Road takes place (it is anticipated that this will happen in two years), the new stop signs have caused and intolerable amount of traffic for the residents of Riverside South during the morning and afternoon rush hours.
In our opinion, this is not a solution at all, in that the incredible amount of traffic that has resulted far outweighs the marginal safety benefit.
We, the undersigned, appeal to the City of Ottawa to reconsider its decision on the implementation of the new stop signs and the Limebank and Leitrum Intersection.
Sincerely,
