Get Jordan Rhoat added to the Open Directory Project |
http://jordanrhoat.com/jordans_website.php
To: The Open Directory ProjectMy name is Jordan Rhoat. I am an artist who graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art with a BFA in Painting. I was born with a disability called Arthrogryposis. Some of my work is about confronting stereotypes placed on people with disabilities. I stumbled upon The Open Directory Project and found a list of personal web-pages created by people with Arthrogryposis. These web-pages are usually cheesy, unintentionally hilarious and do little but further stereotypes of the disabled as being "retarded," and disconnected. I decided to create my own "web-page" as a project, and make it over-the-top, ironic, and just as awkward as the other web-pages, in an effort to confront the cliches, and have fun with 90s clip-art.
The Open Directory says this on their site ...
"The Open Directory Project is the largest, most comprehensive human-edited directory of the Web. It is constructed and maintained by a vast, global community of volunteer editors."
I have submitted my project's "web-page" to the Open Directory Project a multiple of times, over the last couple months, with no success of being added into their directory, or any type of response whatsoever.
Please sign my petition to get my "web-page" entered into the Directory, so my project can be finished.
Sincerely,
