Please Remove Tutankhamun's Remains From Public Display

To:  Dr. Zahi Hawass, Director of the Supreme Council of Antiquities

We, the undersigned, respectfully implore you to remove the body of Tutankhamun from public display. Although your efforts to protect and conserve the mummy are commendable, it is not necessary to violate the memory of this noble young man by turning his pitiful remains into a tourist spectacle.

We believe it is extremely disrespectful to exploit human remains as a means to generate tourism and revenue, and that no person deserves to have his corpse exposed to the gawking eyes of thousands of people on a daily basis. Please do the right thing and place him back where he belongs; in the coffin that was created for him with the expectation that he would spend eternity in peace and dignity.

Thank you for your consideration, and for your ongoing work in preserving the history and heritage of Egypt.
