We, the undersigned residents of the Oakland community oppose a full repeal of Measure OO and instead call on you to support the Children's Compromise.

The Children's Compromise stops cuts to existing children's services and takes into account the city's financial challenges. The compromise, currently supported by four Councilmembers and the Kids First 2 Coalition, amends Measure OO to maintain current funding levels for children's services at 3.5\% of the unrestricted general fund, includes a sunset in 12 years and eliminates a $10 million increase for kids that is set to start in 2011.

A total repeal of Measure OO will leave 5,000 kids at risk of having no safe place to go after-school and goes against the will of 78,896 voters who expressed strong support for prioritizing kids and saving children's services. The Children's Compromise is a win-win for kids and our community during these difficult financial times.

Oakland City Council Members: We ask you to vote for the Children's Compromise and against a total repeal of Measure OO.
