My name is Angela Plasteras, and I am just one of the millions of people worldwide who have Epilepsy. I use to see the Internet as a wealth of information, as well as wonderful piece of technology that has only scraped the surface as far as what we as people are able to accomplish by using it. However, that was my opinion before I got diagnosed with Epilepsy - a serious neurological condition that affects the quality of many people's lives every day!

When I came to Youtube and saw the thousands of videos that mock my condition, the Internet was no longer safe to me, much less fun to browse; rather, I viewed it as a potential hazard and was no longer able to use it in the same, somewhat carefree, manner as before! The realization of Epilepsy and seizure triggers were in the back of my mind, and the fact that Youtube, a site that allows so called "free expression," would allow such offensive mockery videos, is something I refuse to take lightly!

I came to YouTube in hopes of it being a safe place to look up topics like Epilepsy and seek advice and knowledge. Little did I know, the simple act of putting words into a search box would result in an appalling realization; Epilepsy is being made a mockery to those who have not experienced it for themselves.

I am shocked, disgusted, and appalled at YouTube for allowing this kind of behaviour from its users to roam free without reprimanding those who think its funny to make a game out of a serious neurological condition. YouTube is known to pride itself on being a safe place where people are free to express what they feel is important, but yet they continue to let hurtful, cruel, and harmful mockery go unnoticed?

I won't stand for it! Please help me in my efforts to make YouTube a safe place for people with Epilepsy to browse! We need to ban together to make a difference and tell those insensitive bullies that their efforts are indeed failures, not successes!

Help me make a change; together, we can stand for what we know is right!
