Cut funding for Prospects organisation, a group set up to help Autistic people, and people with Aspergers Syndrome. Prospects are part of the NAS, National Autistic Society in the UK. Myself and many other people who tried to use them to seek long term stable employment in our areas of choice, have been betrayed and deceived by Prospects. Different excuses are cited each, and most times they fail to find work for you, despite assesing your capabilties and aspirations. When a work placement goes bad for someone with Aspergers syndrome, the organisation fails to communicate promptly and accurately with the host business. Often Prospects and the host company blame the worker for failing, when they are almost always trying very hard, and are a recipient of blame, and the worker not being educated; trained or told about the situation. Quite often Prospects lie about the availability of work for clients. When the subject begins to feel negative and caustic about their situation, they often fail on requirements of life, like punctuality, politeness, memory, accuracy. Prospects will then cite this reason why they cannot reccomend a client with Autism or Aspergers for work, starting a vicious cycle of more behavior and mild depression. Also they tend to place very qualified people with AS in lesser or unrelated jobs. I accept that people are helped from time to time, however it's a small number.
