Casi-No Way in Cleveland

To:  Ohio Jobs and Growth Committee

Mr. Jeff Jacobs has proposed a 1,000 room hotel/casino in the Downtown Cleveland area. He also has plans for Cincinnati, Columbus and Toledo. While one can argue the plus side to this, is this casino really necessary? With the many bars, historic landmarks, sporting/concert arenas, parks, and not to forget the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame, it is appropriate to find this plan wasteful and unnecessary. Should we not focus our money and time on the problems that are in dire need of our attention in the city instead of covering them up with the next biggest thing?
