We, the undersigned residents of Canada, draw the attention of the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario to the following:

THAT
The junction of King's Highway 6 and the 403 Eastbound is unsafe due to Toronto-bound traffic from highway 6 entering the high-speed left lane of the 403 Eastbound (Toronto-bound).
Left entry on-ramps to high speed freeways are not common, so most drivers neither expect nor know how to safely prepare for and utilize them.
This ramp is particularly dangerous because it occurs barely a kilometre from a blind curve on the 403 E, a distance which at 90km/hour (the posted speed limit) takes only 30-45 seconds to travel. This is especially important because most drivers do not follow the posted 90km/hour limit in this area, especially in the left lane.
A large number of motor vehicle accidents occur in this area due to the design of this ramp, causing excess congestion and costing tax dollars for cleanup, closures and accident benefit payouts to victims.
Other jurisdictions in the US and Canada have take measures to phase out left entry on-ramps to ensure public safety.

THEREFORE, your petitioners request the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario investigate, create and implement a plan to make the King's Highway 6/403 E on-ramp safer. Such a strategy should include:

Investigation of the number and severity of traffic accident occurring in this location
Study of the density of traffic through this junction daily, especially during morning and evening rush hours.
Investigation of alternate entry ramp schemes, including but not limited to: creating a bridge and right entry ramp onto Highway 403 Eastbound to replace the current design, lowered speed limits and increased police presence in this area, creating a longer merge lane coming off of King's Highway 6.
