Petition opposing the Rezoning of 7850 East Jefferson

Please attend the next City Planning Commission hearing on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 4:30PM. The City Planning commission meets on the 13th floor of the Coleman A Young Municipal Center. A status report will be presented to the commission and they will again have the opportunity to vote on the matter. It is important that the community continue to be present at this meeting to show the strong opposition to this proposed change and not allow the developers to be the only voice heard.

To:  City of Detroit City Planning Commission

I oppose the Rezoning of 7850 from (R-6) High Density Residential to (PD) Planned Development for a low rise office building that does not benefit the Villages neighborhood and takes jobs and density from Detroits central business district.

I expect any development on 7850 East Jefferson, per Detroit City Council resolution and City of Detroit Master Plan to have public easements for access to the Detroit River from Jefferson and easements for access along the Riverfront.
