Bar Further Appearance of Westboro Baptist Church in the State of Rhode Island

To:  State of Rhode Island General Assembly

This petition is to hereby request and respect our demand in the motion to bar Westboro Baptist Church from being allowed any future appearances in the state of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations following a recent chain of protests in the cities of Newport, Providence, and East Providence. The said church has previously had petitions signed and laws passed in several other states against them for the following actions:

- Hate speech/discrimination against selected groups of individuals, such as homosexuals, Jews, the nation of Israel, and several other minority groups.
- Verbal acts of domestic terrorism in the form of holding up signs that read, "God hates America," "Antichrist Obama," "Obama - Beast," and hatred against the military.
- Slander against the Christian faith, specifically that of Baptists, by including "Baptist" in their church name and then proceeding to appear in America and other parts of the world to spread their messages of hate.
- Implanting fear into the target audience in the form of their not being welcome into a country that was formed for the sake of freedom, as is stated in the First Amendment of the Constitution.

We the undersigned make the request that this petition will be viewed and taken into consideration as to the action that may or may not be taken in order to prevent the furthering of the activities of Westboro Baptist Church in the state of Rhode Island.
