***Submission of recommendation to Sven Schramm - Creator and Overseer of Inselkampf***



We, the undersigned, all players on Inselkampf World 1 (www.inselkampf.com) including those who have paid for the privilege of using the XXL Feature available to subscribers, do respectfully state and request the following:



Due to the recent spate of account thefts via various means, there is a growing concern throughout Inselkampf World 1 (henceforth identified as "IK") regarding account theft.



-> As faithful players, having invested months playing this game, we grow attached to our accounts. While some may argue it is only a game, having an account stolen can be upsetting - to put it mildly.



-> As players who have paid for the privilege of using the XXL feature (and it's subsequent advantages), it is highly aggravating that something you have paid to enhance is removed from your control. Very much in line with actual theft.



-> As decent people who do their best to enjoy the game, having someone cheat in such a manner as to seize (and possibly destroy) months of planning is unacceptable to all - whether it affects us directly or indirectly.



Root causes of how the thefts occur vary:

~ Handing over a session ID (and keeping it open) for various reasons.

~ Password theft via abuse of trust that comes when handed over in good faith to "caretake" an account during an absence

~"Hacking" or capture of the account through social engineering (commonly referred to as being "conned").



We the undersigned do sincerely request that as the creator (and arbiter) of the game, You (Sven Schramm) institute an immediate change in the function of the game. It is recommended that you institute a set limit (24 hours) when all players will be removed from the game, and all session IDs will be rendered null & void, and players who wish to continue playing log back in.



In doing so, two advantages are provided to those who attempt to play a fair game:



1 - Those that use auto-refresh methods to keep sessions open, with the aim of using scripts to automate processes (such as "fleet-saving", building upgrades, resource shipments, etc...) find their ability to cheat removed by forcing them to revisit the game on a daily basis, as all players should (if they wish to progress as rapidly as possible).



2 - Those that use Session IDs to access an account that is not their own, have their advantage removed after 24 hours. This would limit any illicit actions taken by the culprits to a single day (as a method to limit damages to another's account).



As players, many of us understand that if a player is determined to cheat, lie & steal, they will do so. It would be impossible to eliminate, entirely, the ability to steal an account.



While we all understand that you, Sven Schramm, are not bound to the players of IK in anyway (via written, oral, or implied contract), we do hope you feel a personal obligation to those that play your creation, and appreciate it for the wonderful and addictive product it is.
