To:  Television Network News Executives

We, the undersigned, request the release of broadcast-quality copies of any and all significant September 11 news coverage you must have in your archives. Specifically, we request any and all video which depicts:

* UA flight 175 approaching or hitting the south world trade tower

* The orange-yellow glowing substance dripping from near the 89th floor of the south tower just prior to its collapse

* The actual collapse events

* The "spire" (a significant section of the north tower core which remained standing for several moments after the main collapse, only to then collapse itself)

* Any aspect of the aftermath at ground zero, the Pentagon, and Shanksville

Sincere parties on all sides of the 9/11 debates have an interest in supporting the release of broadcast-quality video. The following three researchers, each with radically different views on 9/11, have all agreed to endorse this petition as founding supporters:

* Mete Sozen, Ph.D. - Dr. Sozen is Kettelhut Distinguished Professor of Structural Engineering at Purdue University. His team created the simulation of the aircraft impact into the North Trade Tower, and also the Pentagon. Dr. Sozen supports the hypothesis that the twin towers were brought down by jet impact damage and fires, and agrees with the NIST report.

* Steven E. Jones, Ph.D. – Dr. Jones is a retired professor of physics at Brigham Young University, and a founder of Scholars for 9/11 Truth and Justice. Dr. Jones supports a controlled demolition hypothesis of the World Trade Center involving thermate and conventional explosives, and firmly believes that the towers were impacted by real passenger jets.

* Morgan O. Reynolds, Ph.D. – Dr. Reynolds is former chief economist in the Bush administration, former director of the Criminal Justice Center at the National Center for Policy Analysis, and professor emeritus of economics at Texas A & M University. Dr. Reynolds supports a controlled demolition hypothesis of the World Trade Center involving directed energy weapons, and believes that no passenger jets crashed at any of the four 9/11 locations. Dr. Reynolds has filed a lawsuit on behalf of the United States against many NIST contractors, alleging fraud.

Given this across-the-board support from such highly credentialed yet diverse researchers, what good reason can there be for refusing this request? Scientific debate is ongoing regarding the exact nature of many 9/11 events, and analysis of the requested videos could prove helpful, even vital, in settling matters.

Following are just a few of many examples in which broadcast-quality video could be of paramount scientific importance:

* UA175 - Based on various anomalies observed in internet-quality video, some researchers maintain that the videos depicting United Airlines flight 175 striking the tower are video composites. Others dismiss this as ridiculous, and suggest that the anomalies can be attributed to video compression artifacts and poor analysis. Broadcast-quality would eliminate compression artifacts, and reduce errors in analysis.

* Glowing Material - Again based on internet videos, there appears to have been a molten substance pouring from the northeast corner of the south tower, at about floor 89, just prior to collapse. A broadcast quality copy of this event could help determine the composition of this material, or at least an accurate temperature reading, as the color of a glowing molten substance is directly related to its temperature.

* The Spire - Yet again based on internet videos, some have suggested that the north tower steel core section which remained standing for a few moments, somehow then managed to disintegrate and turn to dust. Others reject that as absurd. They suggest that the spire had collected great quantities of dust on it during the main collapse event, and then simply collapsed downwards itself, leaving behind a trail of dust, which created an illusion that the steel had disintegrated. Broadcast-quality video would give us a much closer look into what actually happened.

Clearly, analysis of broadcast-quality 9/11 video is called for.

I, Alexander "Ace" Baker, as author of this petition, am willing to pay any standard fee associated with retrieving and if necessary digitizing this archived footage. Please be advised that this would be used only for non-commercial research and educational purposes, and would not constitute a license to use the video footage in any commercial venture.

The American people have a right to know exactly what was broadcast over their public airwaves September 11, 2001. Due to extraordinary historical, educational and journalistic value, we, the undersigned, feel that the people’s right to know far outweighs any other considerations which may be invoked in refusing this request.

Once again, we request your kind co-operation in making broadcast-quality 9/11 videos available for research.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
