WTC Memorial |
To: Governing Body and Citizens of New York (and for those whose voices can no longer be heard.)We the undersigned citizens, request that the City of New York refrain from erecting any commercial building(s) on the 'sacred' ground which is currently referred to as "Ground Zero".
We ask that this sight be considered for a memorial. Included in this petition are a few ideas:
1. Names of all firefighers, emergency medical professionals, NYPD & PAPD officers (who perished) be placed in a bronze wall.
*We ask that the bronze statue of the Fireman that was donated to the City of New York be placed there as well.*
2. As many as possible, the names of all victims be placed accordingly to their locations.
(example: Flight # listing all aboard, or Towers 1 & 2)
3. An eternal Flame.
3.Benches placed around for those who would like to sit and "reflect", or pray.
4. Pieces of each tower, perhaps encased in glass to protect them.
While these are only ideas, we feel that this area is now the burial grounds for the thousands unrecovered. Only a memorial sight would seem appropriate.
Please do not desecrate this area by commercializing it.
Thank you.Sincerely,
