Blake Pirtle is an inmate at Washington State Prison. In June 2001, Blake had his entence of death overturned, vacated and set aside.
Blake is the only inmate that has won his appeal, but is still housed on death row. Inmate Gary Benn is in the exact same situatuion as Blake with his appeals, yet he, like all the other death row inmates, is housed in general population.
Mitch Rupe won his appeal, and was placed in general population until his case ecame finale, it took 6.5 years. Willy Mak's caser took over 10 years and he too, was housed in general population the whole time. David Rice, Patrick Jeffrey's both won their appeals, they were removed from Death Row housing, placed into General Population. Then lost their next appeal 2 years later. They were placed back on Death row housing, won their appeal again, and were once again removed from death row housing and placed into general population, until their appels and cases became finale, this took about 4 years.
Blake is the only death row inmate that has won his appeal, and which the prison has refused to move from death row housing.
Judge Quakenbush is the only judge that has overturned a sentence of death, and the prison refuses to even acknowledge his ruling. The prison has, in every other case, except Blake's, acted on the judges or courts order, and has removed the inmate from death row housing within 90 days

Blake is being punished under death row policies, even though his sentence is not death. The prison refuses to acknowledge this obvious fact.

Please, sign this petition. The way Blake is being treated by the prison is outrageous.
