STOP MSN Closing Groups |
To: MSN GroupsMSN's Groups are used regularly, sometimes daily, by people from all over the world. Real friendships have been made; support networks fostered; and a true sense of community has grown. For some people MSN Groups are an invaluable conduit (sometimes their ONLY conduit) for social contact, laughter, fun, and a sharing forum.
Should MSN choose to close its Groups, hundreds or people - literally - shall suddenly become dispossessed and disenfranchised from their online friendship family. Their social umbilical cord severed at a stroke, friends lost.
That MSN runs these Groups for free, for so long, is creditable; a rare act of altruism by one of the largest companies in the world. However, I think MSN is being disingenuous when they say they are closing down these Groups to "provide our customers with the most current and user friendly technology available today ". That's just to make them sound noble. They are closing Groups because it generates no profit. It's profit, not integrity that motivates them.
We, the undersigned, vehemently protest the closing of the Groups and ask MSN to reconsider. To punish an innocent majority for profit, is an atrocity itself. To close the Groups after so many years of loyalty like this, is like throwing us to the curb like you would the trash. Is that what we have been to your company all these years? We have used your Groups and other products loyally, and you want to throw us out like trash?
Please leave these invaluable Groups intact and we, in turn, shall endeavour to police them.
Sincerely,
