People can drop oil prices

Petrol prices are soaring, during the past few months thus having an effect on food and gas prices globally. The fact is that in Europe at least things could be different but they are not.
The 130$ (or more) a barrel that is circulated through the media are not true for Europe. These are the prices for the American market. Europe buys in Brent prices which means that
a) Europe buys 5-6$ cheaper and
b) Brent prices remain the same for the past 5-6 months

This is done simply by the fact that when the price of petrol in American dollars rises Europe responds with an increase of the price of its currency the Euro against the American Dollar. Thus Europe does not pay the increase in petrol price.

Therefore no one can increase the price of gas or food using as an excuse international petrol price increases. Someone can increase prices however by using various lame excuses which are circulated through the media. And since the largest proportion of the public is uniformed, they are ready to digest anything governments throw at them and take it as fact.

Through this petition we are trying to awaken public awareness and try to make a stand against all those oil companies, officials and anyone that has a direct profit from price increases.

We propose that if we could manage to circulate this around the globe through the Internet and convince people not to use their cars for several days (for example a month), the loss of these “gentlemen” will be in the region of hundreds of billions of dollars.
We thought that a suitable month would be September which is autumn for the Northern hemisphere and the beginning of spring for the Southern. We can use other means of transportation. And if they don't listen we can always continue!

We can show that people have power and that they are not just brainless followers of the leaders of their respective country!!!
