Citizens For St Edward State Park

To:  Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission

We the undersigned:
1) Oppose private sector development in Washington State Parks that is not in keeping with the unique character of each park. More specifically, we oppose the McMenamins Brewpub proposal to use the historic Seminary building and surrounding lands at St. Edward State Park for a brewpub, restaurant and hotel.
2) Request the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission delay further action on this proposal to give the surrounding communities and citizens of Washington State an opportunity to work with them to develop alternatives consistent with the Washington State Parks mission to enhance and protect cultural and natural sites and to foster education and outdoor recreation.
