"Fans Against Power Rangers Animation" (FAPRA)

A rumor has been circulating since the beginning of Operation Overdrive. That rumor is that Disney plans to change the format of a long-running series. The change will happen in 2009 or possibly 2010. That series is Power Rangers. The format: ANIMATION.

As a long time fan of Toku, as well as Super Sentai and the American iteration of Super Sentai that is Power Rangers, I feel saddened by the fact that this idea is even being considered.

In a world of television flooded by cartoons, Power Rangers came along and swept us all away. 16 years later it still has managed to entertain audiences worldwide.

The fan base consists of those who watched during the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers first episode who are now adults to the new series for the children of today. As this particular series holds great appeal both to children and adults.

The attraction of Power Rangers is and has always been the Live-Action aspect of the show. If the show goes animated, it will kill what makes Power Rangers what it is.

Viewers feel a connection to the characters and the emotions displayed in the series. That same connection cannot be felt with an animation.

The storyline of the shows are what bring the viewers into this universe of Power Rangers. The connection is what makes them stay.

16 years and we are all still here. We watch each series as it premiers and continue to enjoy them long after their run has ended.

Most of us growing up with the show now have children of our own. We have passed our love of Power Rangers on to them. And they enjoy the series as well.

As long as the show stays a live-action series we, the fans, will continue watching.

If Power Rangers becomes animated, it will not be Power Rangers. Just an animated show that happens to shares the same name. To take away the shows main attraction would be saddening indeed. As animation strips the show of what makes Power Rangers enjoyable to begin with.


This petition is simple and directed towards the Walt Disney(C) company and its affiliates companies.

This petition is against the destruction of a live-action series. This petition is against the changing of Power Rangers. Those who sign are those who are against the idea of Power Rangers being animated. Those who sign are saying YES to live-action.

All we are asking is that the show remain true to itself and not follow trend. We would hate to see Power Rangers stripped of all that makes it great.

Sign the petition to say NO to animation.

For the past 16 years the Power Rangers have been saving our world. And now, it is time for us to save them.
