Suspend or Revoke ACORN's Corporate Status |
To: Arkansas Secretary of State Charlie DanielsCalling on Secretary of State Charlie Daniels to suspend or revoke the status of the Association of Communities Organized for Reform Now (ACORN), a domestic non-profit corporation in the State of Arkansas.
A report released by the United States Congress on July 29, 2009 stated that ACORN is intentionally structured as a criminal enterprise;
In 2001, the executive board of ACORN covered up the embezzlement of over one million dollars by an employee and fellow board member;
ACORN used it's domestic Articles of Incorporation, filed in the State of Arkansas, to file as a foreign corporation in Maryland. In 2006, the Maryland Board of Assessments and Taxation revoked ACORN's status, but ACORN continues to operate in Maryland illegally.
ACORN employees have been charged, convicted, or plead guilty to voter fraud or similar election related offenses in 15 states;
Secretary of State Charlie Daniels should immediately suspend or revoke the non-profit corporate status of ACORN and initiate a complete and thorough investigation of all suspect activity.
Sincerely,
