It was recently brought to our attention that the school song of our *alma mater, Anglican High School (AHS), has been changed in recent years.

We have attempted to contact the school to seek clarification on this matter. The reply was that the change was approved by the board of directors and alumni yet there was little reason given to the justification behind this change.

While the school has demostrated how AHS' 50 years of legacy is valued through the publication of a book on AHS' history and making it compulsory for secondary one students to read this book, forsaking the school song of more than 45 years of history greatly undermines the effort.

Also, as past students of AHS, we feel strongly that the change has alienated us from the fond memories we hold of the school and the strong sense of pride and belonging we have towards AHS.

It is indeed sad that more than 45 cohorts of past students are now unable to sing the NEW school song of AHS as we celebrate the AHS' golden jubilee.

Therefore, on this special occassion whereby we celebrate 50 years of AHS being founded, we are requesting that the school song we know for the past 50 years, be reinstated and sing by future cohorts of students.
