We the undersigned do hereby protest the harassment of Dr. Robert I. Solomon of Williamsburg, Virginia, for treating the severe pain of his suffering patients. We ask that the Virginia Medical Board reverse its direction, and instead begin to support the pain treatment guidelines of the Joint Commission on Accredition of Health Care Organizations, the Federation of United States Medical Boards, and the Pain & Policy Studies Group. These Guidelines demand that all doctors licensed in Virginia treat pain aggressively with "adequate & ongoing opioid medicine." They also demand that all doctors in Virginia be required to learn "titration" and "proper dosing of opioids" so there will be no "spikes" seen by the Board when looking at the records of any Virginia doctor. They demand further that Virginia doctors must understand the difference between "Addiction v. Dependence" and that the failure to treat pain properly is a violation of the Medical Oath and will result in the loss of the medical license of any Virginia doctor so convicted upon open hearing. Lastly, we demand that the Board investigate and punish "the cartel" that has sought to use the secret and deliberate infliction of pain to control the outcome of civil litigation, in a clear conspiracy to obstruct justice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Whereas the under-treatment of pain in America has created a public health care threat that NIH calls a "National Disaster," costing countless innocent lives, we do hereby affix our signatures and pledge our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor to stop this epidemic of suffering:
