We the undersigned strongly oppose the move of the Rudd Government to increase the excise on 'Ready To Drink' alcoholic beverages (also known as 'Alcopops').

The alcopops tax increase is a serious affront to our individual liberty and the principle of personal responsibility. The Alcopops tax is a fraud designed only to raise revenues, doing nothing to address the problems of alcohol abuse.

We call on the Rudd Government to reverse their decision, and for the Liberal Party, the National Party, the Greens, Senator Fielding, and incoming Senator Xenophon, to oppose the tax increase.
