This is an open letter to Sierra Software.

Gentlemen,

I represent one of the many game server hosting companies that have extended the life and profitability of your software release, Aliens Versus Predator 2. Our industry as of late has been besieged by script kiddies who can now crash and interrupt service by exploiting an error in your product. As you have in the implementation of the Dedicated Server application, included NO means to:

1. Ban by CD Key or IP Address
2. Logging of any kind

Now I realize that asking your company to supply a staff and the financial means to provide a patch for a 3 year old game is really not feasible. What we the undersigned are asking, is for you to release more of the dedicated server code so that the community can finish developing our own means of protection. On the last tidbit of server code release, the gaming community DMH has created a much more robust server than what was in the box. All they need is a little more help from you.

We, the community and server providers, respectfully ask that you consider this request. Thank you.
