liberty and justice for Syrians

We are concerned at the frequent news coming from Syria, about the reality of human rights there. Arrests of the owners of the dissenting opinion to the opinion of the ruling power, and ill-treatment and torture during detention, and unfair judgments by the courts that do not have the minimum conditions of justice (the leadership of the Damascus Declaration for Democratic Change example) a certificate of international human rights organizations such as Amnesty International, and the continued detention to whom ended his sentence unjust already as Nizar Rastnaoi, and the abduction of citizens from the streets at the hands of the regime and security forces killed some of them also happened to Sheikh Ma'shuq Alkhoznoi, and prevent a lot of activists from leaving the country for any reason, and refrain the Syrian activist abroad from granting Syrian passports to pressure and force them to return to Syria to be arrested, all this has become daily news transmitted by the Syrians, among them. Add to that the Syrian authorities still obscure the true fact in what happened, in Sednaya military prison for more than a year, where the armed officers opened the fire on prisoners when they were protesting against ill-treatment and there are expectation that have killed more than 25 prisoners are still unidentified and still the families of the prisoners at the jail, living situation serious concerns about the fate of their children.
We are Canadian citizens undersigned, on our behalf , ask your esteemed, to call the Syrian ambassador in Canada, to inform him our grave concern over the fate of hundreds of political prisoners Democrats peaceful, and to deplore the policy of shutting the mouths against the Syrian people. We also hope that the Canadian territory not be a safe haven for the Syrian regime whom implicated in any torture or killing or looting of the Syrian people's money.
We also believe that the commitment of the democratic world, the values of freedom and justice, Canada is an important part of it should be linked to any development of the relations of this world with the Syrian regime's commitment to the system and its respect for the rights of their people. Monsieur le Premier Ministre,
Les nouvelles venues de Syrie à propos de la détérioration des droits de la personne sont de plus en plus inquiétantes. Les arrestations des opposants politiques au pouvoir en place, les mauvais traitements et la torture pendant la période de l’arrestation, les condamnations injustes prononcées par des tribunaux qui ne correspondent pas aux normes de justice (Le procès et les peines contre les leaders de la Déclaration de Damas pour le changement démocratique sont un bon exemple), ont été soulignées par des organismes internationaux tels Amnistie Internationale. Ajoutons à ce qui précède l’extension de la durée de détention des condamnés qui ont terminé leurs peines (l’activiste Nizar Rastnawi) ou l'enlèvement de citoyens dans les rues et le meurtre de certains d’entre eux (Cheikh Mashouk Khaznaoui). Beaucoup d’activistes sont interdits de quitter le pays peu import les raisons tandis qu'on interdit à ceux qui se trouvent à l’extérieur du pays l'accès au passeport syrien afin de leur compliquer la vie et de les obliger à rentrer en Syrie où ils feront face à la détention, à la torture et à la prison,
Les autorités syriennes gardent jusqu’à ce jour le silence sur ce qui s’est passé l’année dernière dans la prison militaire de Saidnaya où les forces de sécurité ont ouvert le feu sur des détenus qui protestaient contre leurs dégradantes conditions de détention. Selon certaines sources, 25 détenus auraient été tués. Les parents des détenus ignorent toujours le destin de leurs enfants.
Nous , citoyens canadiens soussignés, vous demandons de convoquer l'ambassadeur syrien à Ottawa pour lui transmettre notre extrême inquiétude du sort de centaines de prisonniers politiques démocrates et pacifistes détenus dans les prisons en Syrie ainsi que notre refus de la politique qu’impose le gouvernement syrien à l’encontre de son peuple. Nous espérons que le Canada ne sert pas d’abri à ceux qui ont torturé, tué ou volé des citoyens en Syrie.
Nous croyons que l’engagement du monde démocratique, le Canada en tête, aux valeurs de liberté et de justice doit aller de pair avec toute amélioration des relations avec le régime syrien et dans la mesure où ce dernier respecte les droits fondamentaux de son peuple.

تقلقنا الأخبار المتواترة القادمة من سورية , حول واقع حقوق الأنسان هناك . فالأعتقالات لأصحاب الرأي المخالف لرأي السلطة الحاكمة , وسوء المعاملة وممارسة التعذيب أثناء فترة الأعتقال , والأحكام الجائرة التي تصدر عليهم من محاكم لايتحقق فيها الحد الأدنى من شروط العدالة ( قيادة إعلان دمشق للتغيير الديمقراطي مثالاً ) بشهادة منظمات حقوقية دولية كمنظمة العفو الدولية , كما الأستمرار في احتجاز من أنهى مدة حكمة الجائرة أصلاً كالناشط نزار رستناوي , وأختطاف المواطنين من الشوارع على يد أجهزة أمن النظام وقتل بعضهم كما حدث للشيخ معشوق الخزنوي , ومن㳥ير المئات من السجناء السياسيين الديمقراطين المسالمين , كما استيائنا من سياسة كم الأفواه التي تنتهجها الحكومة السورية بحق شعبها . كما نأمل أن لاتكون الأراضي الكندية ملاذاً آمناً لرجال النظام السوري المتورطون في اية عملية تعذيب أو قتل أو نهب لمال الشعب السوري .
كما نرى , أن التزام العالم الديمقراطي وكندا جزء هام منه , بقيم الحرية والعدالة , يستوجب ربط أي تطور لعلاقات هذا العالم مع النظام السوري بمدى التزام ذلك النظام واحترامه لحقوق شعبه .
