To:  Ontario & Federal Government

On Monday August 24, 2009 the over 550 workers at 56 DriveTest locations across Ontario went on strike. This means that there would be no more road tests or G1 tests until the United Steelworkers Local 9511 came to a resolution. Over four thousand people are affected per day from getting there G1, G2, or G as well as being able to renew licenses. So far, over approximately 224 000 people have been affected.

This petition intends to aid the United Steelworkers Local 9511 to come to a resolution and to let them know that students across Ontario are fed up with the eight week strike. Many of the people affected by strike are students and need their licenses to drive to school whether it is to high school or university. We need our licenses to get to our after school jobs, and to get home from after school activities after missing buses in rural communities.

Please sign the petition if you are an Ontario student who wants this stop!

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
