Armani Black Codes Perfume |
To: the company ArmaniWe, the eighth grade students of Pollard Middle School in Needham, Massachusetts, would like to bring a product to your attention. This is a product created by Giorgio Armani. This product is called Black Code Perfume. This is an extremely racist name for a type of perfume. Many people may think of it as a name, but it is not. The Black Codes were a significant time in history. I am sure everyone knows about Martin Luther King Jr. and his “I have a dream” speech, but does anyone know what it is about? The Black Codes were a name given to laws which restricted freed slaves from being equal to whites. Some of the restrictions were voting, working in certain occupations, prohibiting them to sit on jury, and many more. This is a very sensitive subject for a variety of people, all different ethnicities, and we want this product off the market, before it continues to hurt other people. Thank you for your time and concern.
Sincerely,
