Bring Back Brazilian Football |
To: Channel 4For the past few years, the Campeonato Brasileiro has been covered on British television, by Channel 4 - a mainstream, free-to-all channel. The commentary was provided by the excellent Jon Cotterill and Bira Brasil, who brought the most exciting football legaue in the world to the screens aof thousands of homes across the UK. In addition to the Campeonato Brasileiro, Channel 4 also provided excellent coverage of the Copa Libertadores, with one game from each round being screened. This year, however, is entirely different. Channel 4 has surrendered the rights to the Campeonato Brasileiro to Channel 425, a little-known channel which is based on horse-racing. As a result, the Campeonato Brasileiro 2005 is only available to those who are subscribed to Sky Digital television. And at that, there is no evidence of this mystery Channel 425 on Sky's website. FSA has decided to start a campaign on behalf of all those who enjoy Brazilian football in order to persuade Channel 4 to bring back the excitement of South American football to free-to-view television in the UK.
Sincerely,
