In signing this petition I ask that you repeal Bill 20, section 15, part 6, passed in the legislature on November 18. This section of the bill removes the legislated requirement in the Community Living Authority Act that people with developmental disabilities and their family members are represented on the Board of Directors of Community Living BC (CLBC), the Crown Agency that administers supports and services to people with developmental disabilities.

I believe that:

- People with developmental disabilities and their families have the right to make decisions that affect their lives.
- People with developmental disabilities and their families are the experts in their own lives.
- Representation on the CLBC Board by the people it serves is key to improving its leadership, stewardship and direction.
- Having representation on a non-decision making advisory committee is not enough.
- This action by your government is a betrayal of the principles on which CLBC was founded.

People with developmental disabilities and families must be guaranteed through legislation a place on the CLBC Board of Directors.

We ask that you repeal the changes made to the Community Living Authority Act.
