BCPSS Inauguration Appeal

To:  Dr. Andres Alonso

Baltimore City Public School students should have inauguration day, January 20, 2009, off from school. This day will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see history. Some of us voted for the first time in this election and we would like the opportunity to share in this event. Given Baltimore's proximity to D.C., we should be allowed to miss school legally to attend this important event. Please show your commitment to students by allowing us to participate in living history.
