Ballygowan Park needs updated!

Ballygowan Playground
It has been brought up quite a few years in a row at our annual general meeting that the residents of the village felt that Ballygowan Playground park should have been updated and is not always in a state that we feel our children are safe playing in.
Many parents arrive with their children at the park to find it is vandalized, sometimes with broken glass scattered around, even under the children's play equipment.
We have been told that the park is maintained by the council two days a week, Monday's (so it is cleared after the weekend) and Friday's (so that it is cleared for the weekend), what about the days in between, when we are taking our young children to the park, after school or after playgroup.
What about an update? Representatives for the council told us at the Agm in 2007 that all the parks in the Ards area would be updated within two years. That two years runs to this October. So when is our park being updated? This year? Next year? How far down on the list are we?
Our slide has already needed to be fixed as it was unsafe, the pictures below where taken a few weeks ago by a concerned parent, who found a jagged hole in the climbing frame, and broken glass on the ground below the frame.

Our park needs to be safe for our children and it isn't!
